That’s my fear and my block. I wrote yesterday, but only my not-so-daily post. I did not work on my novel. I also didn’t follow the prescribed program by filling out the plan questionnaire in advance. Mostly because I wasn’t in the headspace to do planning. I also didn’t comment in the group.
I got some writing done, but not on my novel. Cognitively, I understand the concept of “you don’t know what you have until you finish it” and “nobody can read what you haven’t written.” But mentally, I have done so many things that have amounted to little. Doing something as monumental as writing a novel, it’s hard not to see it as another colossal waste of time. Then again, so what.
I am writing this for my daily writing habit in the Breakthrough & Blocks 7-day sprint, and I’ll set aside some time tonight to write at least a sentence in my novel. I would do it now, but I have to spray-paint the face frame stiles for my basement storage project, try to unclog our dryer vent with the brush that I got yesterday, return some things I bought at Home Depot, and go vote despite the futility I see in voting.
I have some ideas on voting, and they run counter to the conventional wisdom that every vote counts. I will do more research and write about it sometime this week. Hopefully.
